On Saturday the 18th we held an impromptu skatepark session and prize toss at Garvanza skatepark in Los Angeles. Laid back and organised by PRO riders Raul Ruiz and Andrew Jackson. Thanks again for everyone that showed their face, rode their bikes and had a good time, thats what its all about.

I smell a Brit…

In the past few months of constant planning a preparing, I had set rules for the trip. One of those rules was to not ride at night! In all the books I’ve read about motocycle adventuring everyone say’s the same thing, “Don’t ride at night!” Well we broke this rule in New Mexico, and it almost caught up with us.

We adventured down California’s highway one with some of the most scenic terrain I’ve ever seen. We rode a pool out side of Santa Cruz that was amazing and camped in the Mojave Desert, then made it to Surprise Arizona, where we owe a big thanks to the Tellez family! They treated us like kings with food and beer and new Adventures in the desert. Check out there non profit organization called Wheels in motion foundation! Just one of the raddest, nicest families a traveler could meet.

About twenty miles past a gas stop in Lordsburg New Mexico Jason’s honda lost all power. One minuet his head light was in my mirror and the next it went black. I pulled over and I couldn’t see a thing other than my on lights on the side of the I-10. I was going to attempt to ride back to him but decided that it was to dangerous to ride backwards on a major interstate in pitch black night. I pulled the bike down in to a shallow ditch and walked the hundred yards or so to assist Jason with is bike. Lucky for us Jason was ok but the bike was leaking oil and had no power. The State police found us and gave Jason a ride back to the closest town for the night. It was dangerous on the side of that interstate, with the speed limit being 75MPH the trucks were blasting past and not being being able to see us on the side of the road. No more riding at night!! That rule will never get broken again. The next morning we got lucky enough to meet a New Mexico local by the name of Benji. He helped us sort out the problem with Jason’s bike. A burnt fuse and fuse relay was the trouble. When we adventured off the I-10 in New Mexico we found abandoned towns along the boarder of Mexico. No Gas for miles and the only souls around were the boarder patrol police. It’s quite amazing to see these parts of America that you never knew existed, or at one time existed. I enjoyed the high desert in New Mexico, It’s cool and dry with amazing mountains in the back ground.

We spent two days battling the I-10 to Austin. Side winds, head winds, up winds, down winds. If you drive a mile on the I-10 in west Texas you pretty much have seen it all. There is almost nothing past El Paso, Just Gas stations and motels out of horror movies every 100 miles. You gotta be carful that you get gas at the right time or you can run out real easy. It seemed like it was never ending and it really took it’s toll on us.

2500 miles clocked in already! Getting a good break here in Austin with some BMX, Swimming, and Taco carts. Few more days to regroup and I start heading to the North east.

Dima Prykhodko took a plane to Malaga, Spain to get some work done. He did good.
