Mike Curley Bike Check

Front wheel magician Mike Curley recently built up a new steed using his signature SWITCH bars and forks built up to our 2016 Clash frame. Mike was with the crew out in Palermo on a recent WTP trip so we decided to take a closer look at his nose wheelie machine.

Mike needed a super steep offset fork that was built to withstand the punishment of his technical blend of street riding. The SWITCH fork is our steepest street fork yet, with the wheel sitting at 23mm out, the SWITCH fork helps Mike get into that sweet spot for nose manuals that much easier.

The SWITCH fork makes all the front end tricks so much easier, I love the 23mm offset.

The legs on the SWITCH fork feature a taper at the bottom to give your foot more room when doing hang 5's and whiplashes, something Mike felt was really important in his signature fork. Mike isn't scared of going big when needed, so we used a special slotted dropout design allowing us to dramatically strengthen the 6mm thick lazer cut dropout where it needed it the most.

For 2016 Mike's signature SWITCH bar gets an upgrade. We kept the dent resistant oval crosstube, but the bars now measure up at 9" taller with larger diameter top bend for extra bend resistance, the bar of choice for most of the team has never felt better.

The new SWITCH bars feel perfect! I’m really into the 9” rise.

The Clash frame is based around the very popular Trust complete bike frame, but with a few aftermarket touches to make it that little bit extra special. The back end gets super tech 7mm heat-treated dropouts and integrated chain tensioners. The head tube is CNC’d and heat treated for a precise and strong front end.

The Clash is my favourite of all the WTP frames, the geometry is spot on.

The seat clamp is beautifully integrated in to the frame, and the butted top tube with our new extruded profile improves the strength, as well as providing a clean look to this remarkable frame without an insane price tag.

Ridden by team riders like Mike Curley and Dale Armstrong, the Clash is far from a cheap frame. What really seals the deal on the Clash is that it includes our famous lifetime guarantee. Despite being one of the most affordable frames on the market, the Clash is by far one of the strongest.

The Clash frame, SWITCH bar, SWITCH fork, and our entire 2016 product range is now available worldwide and now LIVE on our website. Head to your local bike shop today and check out all of our new frames and components.
